Ezekiel 28

And the word of the Lord came to me, saying:

Et factus est sermo Domini ad me, dicens:

καὶ ἐγένετο λόγος κυρίου πρός με λέγων

Son of man, say to the prince of Tyre: Thus saith the Lord God: Because thy heart is lifted up, and thou hast said: I am God, and I sit in the chair of God in the heart of the sea: whereas thou art a man, and not God: and hast set thy heart as if it were the heart of God.

Fili hominis, dic principi Tyri : Hæc dicit Dominus Deus : Eo quod elevatum est cor tuum, et dixisti : Deus ego sum, et in cathedra Dei sedi in corde maris, cum sis homo, et non deus : et dedisti cor tuum quasi cor Dei :

καὶ σύ υἱὲ ἀνθρώπου εἰπὸν τῷ ἄρχοντι Τύρου τάδε λέγει κύριος ἀνθ' ὧν ὑψώθη σου ἡ καρδία καὶ εἶπας θεός εἰμι ἐγώ κατοικίαν θεοῦ κατῴκηκα ἐν καρδίᾳ θαλάσσης σὺ δὲ εἶ ἄνθρωπος καὶ οὐ θεὸς καὶ ἔδωκας τὴν καρδίαν σου ὡς καρδίαν θεοῦ

Behold thou art wiser than Daniel: no secret is hid from thee.

ecce sapientior es tu Daniele : omne secretum non est absconditum a te :

μὴ σοφώτερος εἶ σὺ τοῦ Δανιηλ σοφοὶ οὐκ ἐπαίδευσάν σε τῇ ἐπιστήμῃ αὐτῶν

In thy wisdom and thy understanding thou hast made thyself strong: and hast gotten gold and silver into thy treasures.

in sapientia et prudentia tua fecisti tibi fortitudinem, et acquisisti aurum et argentum in thesauris tuis :

μὴ ἐν τῇ ἐπιστήμῃ σου ἢ ἐν τῇ φρονήσει σου ἐποίησας σεαυτῷ δύναμιν καὶ χρυσίον καὶ ἀργύριον ἐν τοῖς θησαυροῖς σου

By the greatness of thy wisdom, and by thy traffic thou hast increased thy strength: and thy heart is lifted up with thy strength.

in multitudine sapientiæ tuæ, et in negotiatione tua multiplicasti tibi fortitudinem, et elevatum est cor tuum in robore tuo :

ἐν τῇ πολλῇ ἐπιστήμῃ σου καὶ ἐμπορίᾳ σου ἐπλήθυνας δύναμίν σου ὑψώθη ἡ καρδία σου ἐν τῇ δυνάμει σου

Therefore, thus saith the Lord God: Because thy heart is lifted up as the heart of God:

propterea hæc dicit Dominus Deus : Eo quod elevatum est cor tuum quasi cor dei,

διὰ τοῦτο τάδε λέγει κύριος ἐπειδὴ δέδωκας τὴν καρδίαν σου ὡς καρδίαν θεοῦ

Therefore behold, I will bring upon thee strangers: the strongest of the nations: and they shall draw their swords against the beauty of thy wisdom, and they shall defile thy beauty.

idcirco ecce ego adducam super te alienos, robustissimos gentium : et nudabunt gladios suos super pulchritudinem sapientiæ tuæ, et polluent decorem tuum.

ἀντὶ τούτου ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ ἐπάγω ἐπὶ σὲ ἀλλοτρίους λοιμοὺς ἀπὸ ἐθνῶν καὶ ἐκκενώσουσιν τὰς μαχαίρας αὐτῶν ἐπὶ σὲ καὶ ἐπὶ τὸ κάλλος τῆς ἐπιστήμης σου καὶ στρώσουσιν τὸ κάλλος σου εἰς ἀπώλειαν

They shall kill thee, and bring thee down: and thou shalt die the death of them that are slain in the heart of the sea.

Interficient, et detrahent te : et morieris in interitu occisorum in corde maris.

καὶ καταβιβάσουσίν σε καὶ ἀποθανῇ θανάτῳ τραυματιῶν ἐν καρδίᾳ θαλάσσης

Wilt thou yet say before them that slay thee: I am God; whereas thou art a man, and not God, in the hand of them that slay thee?

Numquid dicens loqueris : Deus ego sum, coram interficientibus te, cum sis homo, et non deus, in manu occidentium te?

μὴ λέγων ἐρεῖς θεός εἰμι ἐγώ ἐνώπιον τῶν ἀναιρούντων σε σὺ δὲ εἶ ἄνθρωπος καὶ οὐ θεός ἐν πλήθει

Thou shalt die the death of the uncircumcised by the hand of strangers: for I have spoken it, saith the Lord God.

Morte incircumcisorum morieris in manu alienorum, quia ego locutus sum, ait Dominus Deus.

ἀπεριτμήτων ἀπολῇ ἐν χερσὶν ἀλλοτρίων ὅτι ἐγὼ ἐλάλησα λέγει κύριος

And the word of the Lord came to me, saying: Son of man, take up a lamentation upon the king of Tyre:

Et factus est sermo Domini ad me, dicens : Fili hominis, leva planctum super regem Tyri,

καὶ ἐγένετο λόγος κυρίου πρός με λέγων

And say to him: Thus saith the Lord God: Thou wast the seal of resemblance, full of wisdom, and perfect in beauty.

et dices ei : Hæc dicit Dominus Deus : Tu signaculum similitudinis, plenus sapientia, et perfectus decore.

υἱὲ ἀνθρώπου λαβὲ θρῆνον ἐπὶ τὸν ἄρχοντα Τύρου καὶ εἰπὸν αὐτῷ τάδε λέγει κύριος κύριος σὺ ἀποσφράγισμα ὁμοιώσεως καὶ στέφανος κάλλους

Thou wast in the pleasures of the paradise of God: every precious stone was thy covering: the sardius, the topaz, and the jasper, the chrysolite, and the onyx, and the beryl, the sapphire, and the carbuncle, and the emerald: gold the work of thy beauty: and thy pipes were prepared in the day that thou wast created.

In deliciis paradisi Dei fuisti : omnis lapis pretiosus operimentum tuum, sardius, topazius, et jaspis, chrysolithus, et onyx, et beryllus, sapphirus, et carbunculus, et smaragdus : aurum, opus decoris tui : et foramina tua, in die qua conditus es, præparata sunt.

ἐν τῇ τρυφῇ τοῦ παραδείσου τοῦ θεοῦ ἐγενήθης πᾶν λίθον χρηστὸν ἐνδέδεσαι σάρδιον καὶ τοπάζιον καὶ σμάραγδον καὶ ἄνθρακα καὶ σάπφειρον καὶ ἴασπιν καὶ ἀργύριον καὶ χρυσίον καὶ λιγύριον καὶ ἀχάτην καὶ ἀμέθυστον καὶ χρυσόλιθον καὶ βηρύλλιον καὶ ὀνύχιον καὶ χρυσίου ἐνέπλησας τοὺς θησαυρούς σου καὶ τὰς ἀποθήκας σου ἐν σοὶ ἀφ' ἧς ἡμέρας ἐκτίσθης σύ

Thou a cherub stretched out, and protecting, and I set thee in the holy mountain of God, thou hast walked in the midst of the stones of fire.

Tu cherub extentus, et protegens, et posui te in monte sancto Dei : in medio lapidum ignitorum ambulasti,

μετὰ τοῦ χερουβ ἔθηκά σε ἐν ὄρει ἁγίῳ θεοῦ ἐγενήθης ἐν μέσῳ λίθων πυρίνων

Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day of thy creation, until iniquity was found in thee.

perfectus in viis tuis a die conditionis tuæ, donec inventa est iniquitas in te.

ἐγενήθης ἄμωμος σὺ ἐν ταῖς ἡμέραις σου ἀφ' ἧς ἡμέρας σὺ ἐκτίσθης ἕως εὑρέθη τὰ ἀδικήματα ἐν σοί

By the multitude of thy merchandise, thy inner parts were filled with iniquity, and thou hast sinned: and I cast thee out from the mountain of God, and destroyed thee, O covering cherub, out of the midst of the stones of fire.

In multitudine negotiationis tuæ repleta sunt interiora tua iniquitate, et peccasti : et ejeci te de monte Dei, et perdidi te, o cherub protegens, de medio lapidum ignitorum.

ἀπὸ πλήθους τῆς ἐμπορίας σου ἔπλησας τὰ ταμίειά σου ἀνομίας καὶ ἥμαρτες καὶ ἐτραυματίσθης ἀπὸ ὄρους τοῦ θεοῦ καὶ ἤγαγέν σε τὸ χερουβ ἐκ μέσου λίθων πυρίνων

And thy heart was lifted up with thy beauty: thou hast lost thy wisdom in thy beauty, I have cast thee to the ground: I have set thee before the face of kings, that they might behold thee.

Et elevatum est cor tuum in decore tuo; perdidisti sapientiam tuam in decore tuo : in terram projeci te; ante faciem regum dedi te ut cernerent te.

ὑψώθη ἡ καρδία σου ἐπὶ τῷ κάλλει σου διεφθάρη ἡ ἐπιστήμη σου μετὰ τοῦ κάλλους σου διὰ πλῆθος ἁμαρτιῶν σου ἐπὶ τὴν γῆν ἔρριψά σε ἐναντίον βασιλέων ἔδωκά σε παραδειγματισθῆναι

Thou hast defiled thy sanctuaries by the multitude of thy iniquities, and by the iniquity of thy traffic: therefore I will bring forth a fire from the midst of thee, to devour thee, and I will make thee as ashes upon the earth in the sight of all that see thee.

In multitudine iniquitatum tuarum, et iniquitate negotiationis tuæ, polluisti sanctificationem tuam : producam ergo ignem de medio tui, qui comedat te, et dabo te in cinerem super terram, in conspectu omnium videntium te.

διὰ τὸ πλῆθος τῶν ἁμαρτιῶν σου καὶ τῶν ἀδικιῶν τῆς ἐμπορίας σου ἐβεβήλωσας τὰ ἱερά σου καὶ ἐξάξω πῦρ ἐκ μέσου σου τοῦτο καταφάγεταί σε καὶ δώσω σε εἰς σποδὸν ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς σου ἐναντίον πάντων τῶν ὁρώντων σε

All that shall see thee among the nations, shall be astonished at thee: thou art brought to nothing, and thou shalt never be any more.

Omnes qui viderint te in gentibus, obstupescent super te : nihili factus es, et non eris in perpetuum.

καὶ πάντες οἱ ἐπιστάμενοί σε ἐν τοῖς ἔθνεσιν στυγνάσουσιν ἐπὶ σέ ἀπώλεια ἐγένου καὶ οὐχ ὑπάρξεις ἔτι εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα

And the word of the Lord came to me, saying:

Et factus est sermo Domini ad me, dicens:

καὶ ἐγένετο λόγος κυρίου πρός με λέγων

Son of man, set thy face against Sidon: and thou shalt prophesy of it,

Fili hominis, pone faciem tuam contra Sidonem, et prophetabis de ea:

υἱὲ ἀνθρώπου στήρισον τὸ πρόσωπόν σου ἐπὶ Σιδῶνα καὶ προφήτευσον ἐπ' αὐτὴν

And shalt say: Thus saith the Lord God: Behold I come against thee, Sidon, and I will be glorified in the midst of thee: and they shall know that I am the Lord, when I shall execute judgments in her, and shall be sanctified in her.

et dices : Hæc dicit Dominus Deus : Ecce ego ad te, Sidon, et glorificabor in medio tui : et scient quia ego Dominus, cum fecero in ea judicia, et sanctificatus fuero in ea.

καὶ εἰπόν τάδε λέγει κύριος ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ ἐπὶ σέ Σιδών καὶ ἐνδοξασθήσομαι ἐν σοί καὶ γνώσῃ ὅτι ἐγώ εἰμι κύριος ἐν τῷ ποιῆσαί με ἐν σοὶ κρίματα καὶ ἁγιασθήσομαι ἐν σοί

And I will send into her pestilence, and blood in her streets: and they shall fall being slain by the sword on all sides in the midst thereof: and they shall know that I am the Lord.

Et immittam ei pestilentiam, et sanguinem in plateis ejus : et corruent interfecti in medio ejus gladio per circuitum, et scient quia ego Dominus.

αἷμα καὶ θάνατος ἐν ταῖς πλατείαις σου καὶ πεσοῦνται τετραυματισμένοι ἐν μαχαίραις ἐν σοὶ περικύκλῳ σου καὶ γνώσονται διότι ἐγώ εἰμι κύριος

And the house of Israel shall have no more a stumbling block of bitterness, nor a thorn causing pain on every side round about them, of them that are against them: and they shall know that I am the Lord God.

Et non erit ultra domui Israël offendiculum amaritudinis, et spina dolorem inferens undique per circuitum eorum qui adversantur eis : et scient quia ego Dominus Deus.

καὶ οὐκ ἔσονται οὐκέτι τῷ οἴκῳ τοῦ Ισραηλ σκόλοψ πικρίας καὶ ἄκανθα ὀδύνης ἀπὸ πάντων τῶν περικύκλῳ αὐτῶν τῶν ἀτιμασάντων αὐτούς καὶ γνώσονται ὅτι ἐγώ εἰμι κύριος

Thus saith the Lord God: When I shall have gathered together the house of Israel out of the people among whom they are scattered: I will be sanctified in them before the Gentiles: and they shall dwell in their own land, which I gave to my servant Jacob.

Hæc dicit Dominus Deus : Quando congregavero domum Israël de populis in quibus dispersi sunt, sanctificabor in eis coram gentibus : et habitabunt in terra sua, quam dedi servo meo Jacob :

τάδε λέγει κύριος κύριος καὶ συνάξω τὸν Ισραηλ ἐκ τῶν ἐθνῶν οὗ διεσκορπίσθησαν ἐκεῖ καὶ ἁγιασθήσομαι ἐν αὐτοῖς ἐνώπιον τῶν λαῶν καὶ τῶν ἐθνῶν καὶ κατοικήσουσιν ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς αὐτῶν ἣν δέδωκα τῷ δούλῳ μου Ιακωβ

And they shall dwell therein secure, and they shall build houses, and shall plant vineyards, and shall dwell with confidence, when I shall have executed judgments upon all that are their enemies round about: and they shall know that I am the Lord their God.

et habitabunt in ea securi, et ædificabunt domos, et plantabunt vineas, et habitabunt confidenter, cum fecero judicia in omnibus qui adversantur eis per circuitum : et scient quia ego Dominus Deus eorum.

καὶ κατοικήσουσιν ἐπ' αὐτῆς ἐν ἐλπίδι καὶ οἰκοδομήσουσιν οἰκίας καὶ φυτεύσουσιν ἀμπελῶνας καὶ κατοικήσουσιν ἐν ἐλπίδι ὅταν ποιήσω κρίμα ἐν πᾶσιν τοῖς ἀτιμάσασιν αὐτοὺς ἐν τοῖς κύκλῳ αὐτῶν καὶ γνώσονται ὅτι ἐγώ εἰμι κύριος ὁ θεὸς αὐτῶν καὶ ὁ θεὸς τῶν πατέρων αὐτῶν
