Growth in Holiness
Answering the universal call to become a saint in daily life.
What Is Holiness?
Holiness is life in union with God. It means being transformed by grace so that we love God above all things and love our neighbor for His sake.
Holiness is not reserved for priests, religious, or extraordinary souls. Every Christian is called to become holy.
Sacred Scripture teaches, “This is the will of God, your sanctification.” — 1 Thessalonians 4:3
The Universal Call to Holiness
God calls every baptized person to holiness. This call is lived in ordinary daily life through prayer, charity, sacrifice, repentance, obedience, and fidelity to one’s state in life.
Parents become holy by loving and serving their families. Workers become holy by doing honest work well. Students become holy by seeking truth and practicing virtue. The sick and suffering become holy by uniting their trials to Christ.

- Praying when distracted or tired.
- Serving family without seeking praise.
- Doing honest work for the glory of God.
- Resisting temptation one moment at a time.

The Cross and Holiness
Growth in holiness always passes through the Cross. Christ does not call us to comfort first, but to love.
Suffering, when united to Jesus, can become a path of purification, compassion, humility, and deeper trust in God.
The Cross is not the end of the Christian life. It leads to resurrection.
