Titus 2

But speak thou the things that become sound doctrine:

Tu autem loquere quæ decent sanam doctrinam:

Σὺ δὲ λάλει ἃ πρέπει τῇ ὑγιαινούσῃ διδασκαλίᾳ.

That the aged men be sober, chaste, prudent, sound in faith, in love, in patience.

senes ut sobrii sint, pudici, prudentes, sani in fide, in dilectione, in patientia:

πρεσβύτας νηφαλίους εἶναι, σεμνούς, σώφρονας, ὑγιαίνοντας τῇ πίστει, τῇ ἀγάπῃ, τῇ ὑπομονῇ.

The aged women, in like manner, in holy attire, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teaching well:

anus similiter in habitu sancto, non criminatrices, non multo vino servientes, bene docentes:

πρεσβύτιδας ὡσαύτως ἐν καταστήματι ἱεροπρεπεῖς, μὴ διαβόλους μηδὲ οἴνῳ πολλῷ δεδουλωμένας, καλοδιδασκάλους,

That they may teach the young women to be wise, to love their husbands, to love their children.

ut prudentiam doceant adolescentulas, ut viros suos ament, filios suos diligant,

ἵνα σωφρονίζωσιν τὰς νέας φιλάνδρους εἶναι, φιλοτέκνους,

To be discreet, chaste, sober, having a care of the house, gentle, obedient to their husbands: that the word of God be not blasphemed.

prudentes, castas, sobrias, domus curam habentes, benignas, subditas viris suis, ut non blasphemetur verbum Dei.

σώφρονας, ἁγνάς, οἰκουργούς ἀγαθάς, ὑποτασσομένας τοῖς ἰδίοις ἀνδράσιν, ἵνα μὴ ὁ λόγος τοῦ θεοῦ βλασφημῆται.

Young men, in like manner, exhort that they be sober.

Juvenes similiter hortare ut sobrii sint.

Τοὺς νεωτέρους ὡσαύτως παρακάλει σωφρονεῖν

In all things show thyself an example of good works, in doctrine, in integrity, in gravity,

In omnibus teipsum præbe exemplum bonorum operum, in doctrina, in integritate, in gravitate,

περὶ πάντα, σεαυτὸν παρεχόμενος τύπον καλῶν ἔργων, ἐν τῇ διδασκαλίᾳ ἀφθορίαν, σεμνότητα,

The sound word that can not be blamed: that he who is on the contrary part may be afraid, having no evil to say of us.

verbum sanum, irreprehensibile : ut is qui ex adverso est, vereatur, nihil habens malum dicere de nobis.

λόγον ὑγιῆ ἀκατάγνωστον, ἵνα ὁ ἐξ ἐναντίας ἐντραπῇ μηδὲν ἔχων λέγειν περὶ ἡμῶν φαῦλον.

Exhort servants to be obedient to their masters: in all things pleasing, not gainsaying:

Servos dominis suis subditos esse, in omnibus placentes, non contradicentes,

Δούλους ἰδίοις δεσπόταις ὑποτάσσεσθαι ἐν πᾶσιν, εὐαρέστους εἶναι, μὴ ἀντιλέγοντας,

Not defrauding, but in all things showing good fidelity, that they may adorn the doctrine of God our Saviour in all things.

non fraudantes, sed in omnibus fidem bonam ostendentes : ut doctrinam Salvatoris nostri Dei ornent in omnibus.

μὴ νοσφιζομένους, ἀλλὰ πᾶσαν πίστιν ἐνδεικνυμένους ἀγαθήν, ἵνα τὴν διδασκαλίαν τὴν τοῦ σωτῆρος ἡμῶν θεοῦ κοσμῶσιν ἐν πᾶσιν.

For the grace of God our Saviour hath appeared to all men:

Apparuit enim gratia Dei Salvatoris nostri omnibus hominibus,

Ἐπεφάνη γὰρ ἡ χάρις τοῦ θεοῦ σωτήριος πᾶσιν ἀνθρώποις,

Instructing us, that, denying ungodliness and worldly desires, we should live soberly and justly and godly in this world,

erudiens nos, ut abnegantes impietatem, et sæcularia desideria, sobrie, et juste, et pie vivamus in hoc sæculo,

παιδεύουσα ἡμᾶς ἵνα ἀρνησάμενοι τὴν ἀσέβειαν καὶ τὰς κοσμικὰς ἐπιθυμίας σωφρόνως καὶ δικαίως καὶ εὐσεβῶς ζήσωμεν ἐν τῷ νῦν αἰῶνι,

Looking for the blessed hope and coming of the glory of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ.

exspectantes beatam spem, et adventum gloriæ magni Dei, et Salvatoris nostri Jesu Christi:

προσδεχόμενοι τὴν μακαρίαν ἐλπίδα καὶ ἐπιφάνειαν τῆς δόξης τοῦ μεγάλου θεοῦ καὶ σωτῆρος ἡμῶν Χριστοῦ Ἰησοῦ,

Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity and might cleanse to himself a people acceptable, a pursuer of good works.

qui dedit semetipsum pro nobis, ut nos redimeret ab omni iniquitate, et mundaret sibi populum acceptabilem, sectatorem bonorum operum.

ὃς ἔδωκεν ἑαυτὸν ὑπὲρ ἡμῶν ἵνα λυτρώσηται ἡμᾶς ἀπὸ πάσης ἀνομίας καὶ καθαρίσῃ ἑαυτῷ λαὸν περιούσιον, ζηλωτὴν καλῶν ἔργων.

These things speak and exhort and rebuke with all authority. Let no man despise thee.

Hæc loquere, et exhortare, et argue cum omni imperio. Nemo te contemnat.

Ταῦτα λάλει καὶ παρακάλει καὶ ἔλεγχε μετὰ πάσης ἐπιταγῆς: μηδείς σου περιφρονείτω.
