Zechariah 2

1And I lifted up my eyes, and saw, and behold a man, with a measuring line in his hand.

2And I said: Whither goest thou? and he said to me: To measure Jerusalem, and to see how great is the breadth thereof, and how great the length thereof.

3And behold the angel that spoke in me went forth, and another angel went out to meet him.

4And he said to him: Run, speak to this young man, saying: Jerusalem shall be inhabited without walls, by reason of the multitude of men, and of the beasts in the midst thereof.

5And I will be to it, saith the Lord, a wall of fire round about: and I will be in glory in the midst thereof.

6O, O flee ye out of the land of the north, saith the Lord, for I have scattered you into the four winds of heaven, saith the Lord.

7O Sion, flee, thou that dwellest with the daughter of Babylon:

8For thus saith the Lord of hosts: After the glory he hath sent me to the nations that have robbed you: for he that toucheth you, toucheth the apple of my eye:

9For behold, I lift up my hand upon them, and they shall be a prey to those that served them: and you shall know that the Lord of hosts sent me.

10Sing praise, and rejoice, O daughter of Sion: for behold I come, and I will dwell in the midst of thee: saith the Lord.

11And many nations shall be joined to the Lord in that day, and they shall be my people, and I will dwell in the midst of thee: and thou shalt know that the Lord of hosts hath sent me to thee.

12And the Lord shall possess Juda his portion in the sanctified land: and he shall yet choose Jerusalem.

13Let all flesh be silent at the presence of the Lord: for he is risen up out of his holy habitation.

1Et levavi oculos meos, et vidi, et ecce quatuor cornua.

2Et dixi ad angelum qui loquebatur in me : Quid sunt hæc? Et dixit ad me : Hæc sunt cornua quæ ventilaverunt Judam, et Israël, et Jerusalem.

3Et ostendit mihi Dominus quatuor fabros.

4Et dixi : Quid isti veniunt facere? Qui ait, dicens : Hæc sunt cornua quæ ventilaverunt Judam per singulos viros, et nemo eorum levavit caput suum : et venerunt isti deterrere ea, ut dejiciant cornua gentium, quæ levaverunt cornu super terram Juda ut dispergerent eam.

5Et levavi oculos meos, et vidi, et ecce vir, et in manu ejus funiculus mensorum.

6Et dixi : Quo tu vadis? Et dixit ad me : Ut metiar Jerusalem, et videam quanta sit latitudo ejus, et quanta longitudo ejus.

7Et ecce angelus qui loquebatur in me egrediebatur, et angelus alius egrediebatur in occursum ejus:

8et dixit ad eum : Curre, loquere ad puerum istum, dicens : Absque muro habitabitur Jerusalem, præ multitudine hominum et jumentorum in medio ejus.

9Et ego ero ei, ait Dominus, murus ignis in circuitu, et in gloria ero in medio ejus.

10O, o, fugite de terra aquilonis, dicit Dominus, quoniam in quatuor ventos cæli dispersi vos, dicit Dominus.

11O Sion! fuge, quæ habitas apud filiam Babylonis :

12quia hæc dicit Dominus exercituum : Post gloriam misit me ad gentes quæ spoliaverunt vos : qui enim tetigerit vos, tangit pupillam oculi mei :

13quia ecce ego levo manum meam super eos, et erunt prædæ his qui serviebant sibi : et cognoscetis quia Dominus exercituum misit me.

14Lauda et lætare, filia Sion, quia ecce ego venio, et habitabo in medio tui, ait Dominus.

15Et applicabuntur gentes multæ ad Dominum in die illa, et erunt mihi in populum, et habitabo in medio tui : et scies quia Dominus exercituum misit me ad te.

16Et possidebit Dominus Judam partem suam in terra sanctificata, et eliget adhuc Jerusalem.

17Sileat omnis caro a facie Domini, quia consurrexit de habitaculo sancto suo.

1καὶ ἦρα τοὺς ὀφθαλμούς μου καὶ εἶδον καὶ ἰδοὺ τέσσαρα κέρατα

2καὶ εἶπα πρὸς τὸν ἄγγελον τὸν λαλοῦντα ἐν ἐμοί τί ἐστιν ταῦτα κύριε καὶ εἶπεν πρός με ταῦτα τὰ κέρατα τὰ διασκορπίσαντα τὸν Ιουδαν καὶ τὸν Ισραηλ

3καὶ ἔδειξέν μοι κύριος τέσσαρας τέκτονας

4καὶ εἶπα τί οὗτοι ἔρχονται ποιῆσαι καὶ εἶπεν πρός με ταῦτα τὰ κέρατα τὰ διασκορπίσαντα τὸν Ιουδαν καὶ τὸν Ισραηλ κατέαξαν καὶ οὐδεὶς αὐτῶν ἦρεν κεφαλήν καὶ εἰσῆλθον οὗτοι τοῦ ὀξῦναι αὐτὰ εἰς χεῖρας αὐτῶν τὰ τέσσαρα κέρατα τὰ ἔθνη τὰ ἐπαιρόμενα κέρας ἐπὶ τὴν γῆν κυρίου τοῦ διασκορπίσαι αὐτήν

5καὶ ἦρα τοὺς ὀφθαλμούς μου καὶ εἶδον καὶ ἰδοὺ ἀνὴρ καὶ ἐν τῇ χειρὶ αὐτοῦ σχοινίον γεωμετρικόν

6καὶ εἶπα πρὸς αὐτόν ποῦ σὺ πορεύῃ καὶ εἶπεν πρός με διαμετρῆσαι τὴν Ιερουσαλημ τοῦ ἰδεῖν πηλίκον τὸ πλάτος αὐτῆς ἐστιν καὶ πηλίκον τὸ μῆκος

7καὶ ἰδοὺ ὁ ἄγγελος ὁ λαλῶν ἐν ἐμοὶ εἱστήκει καὶ ἄγγελος ἕτερος ἐξεπορεύετο εἰς συνάντησιν αὐτῷ

8καὶ εἶπεν πρὸς αὐτὸν λέγων δράμε καὶ λάλησον πρὸς τὸν νεανίαν ἐκεῖνον λέγων κατακάρπως κατοικηθήσεται Ιερουσαλημ ἀπὸ πλήθους ἀνθρώπων καὶ κτηνῶν ἐν μέσῳ αὐτῆς

9καὶ ἐγὼ ἔσομαι αὐτῇ λέγει κύριος τεῖχος πυρὸς κυκλόθεν καὶ εἰς δόξαν ἔσομαι ἐν μέσῳ αὐτῆς

10ὦ ὦ φεύγετε ἀπὸ γῆς βορρᾶ λέγει κύριος διότι ἐκ τῶν τεσσάρων ἀνέμων τοῦ οὐρανοῦ συνάξω ὑμᾶς λέγει κύριος

11εἰς Σιων ἀνασῴζεσθε οἱ κατοικοῦντες θυγατέρα Βαβυλῶνος

12διότι τάδε λέγει κύριος παντοκράτωρ ὀπίσω δόξης ἀπέσταλκέν με ἐπὶ τὰ ἔθνη τὰ σκυλεύσαντα ὑμᾶς διότι ὁ ἁπτόμενος ὑμῶν ὡς ἁπτόμενος τῆς κόρης τοῦ ὀφθαλμοῦ αὐτοῦ

13διότι ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ ἐπιφέρω τὴν χεῖρά μου ἐπ' αὐτούς καὶ ἔσονται σκῦλα τοῖς δουλεύουσιν αὐτοῖς καὶ γνώσεσθε διότι κύριος παντοκράτωρ ἀπέσταλκέν με

14τέρπου καὶ εὐφραίνου θύγατερ Σιων διότι ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ ἔρχομαι καὶ κατασκηνώσω ἐν μέσῳ σου λέγει κύριος

15καὶ καταφεύξονται ἔθνη πολλὰ ἐπὶ τὸν κύριον ἐν τῇ ἡμέρᾳ ἐκείνῃ καὶ ἔσονται αὐτῷ εἰς λαὸν καὶ κατασκηνώσουσιν ἐν μέσῳ σου καὶ ἐπιγνώσῃ ὅτι κύριος παντοκράτωρ ἐξαπέσταλκέν με πρὸς σέ

16καὶ κατακληρονομήσει κύριος τὸν Ιουδαν τὴν μερίδα αὐτοῦ ἐπὶ τὴν γῆν τὴν ἁγίαν καὶ αἱρετιεῖ ἔτι τὴν Ιερουσαλημ

17εὐλαβείσθω πᾶσα σὰρξ ἀπὸ προσώπου κυρίου διότι ἐξεγήγερται ἐκ νεφελῶν ἁγίων αὐτοῦ
