Psalms 121

I rejoiced at the things that were said to me: We shall go into the house of the Lord.

Lætatus sum in his quæ dicta sunt mihi : In domum Domini ibimus.

ᾠδὴ τῶν ἀναβαθμῶν εὐφράνθην ἐπὶ τοῖς εἰρηκόσιν μοι εἰς οἶκον κυρίου πορευσόμεθα

Our feet were standing in thy courts, O Jerusalem.

Stantes erant pedes nostri in atriis tuis, Jerusalem.

ἑστῶτες ἦσαν οἱ πόδες ἡμῶν ἐν ταῖς αὐλαῖς σου Ιερουσαλημ

Jerusalem, which is built as a city, which is compact together.

Jerusalem, quæ ædificatur ut civitas, cujus participatio ejus in idipsum.

Ιερουσαλημ οἰκοδομουμένη ὡς πόλις ἧς ἡ μετοχὴ αὐτῆς ἐπὶ τὸ αὐτό

For thither did the tribes go up, the tribes of the Lord: the testimony of Israel, to praise the name of the Lord.

Illuc enim ascenderunt tribus, tribus Domini : testimonium Israël, ad confitendum nomini Domini.

ἐκεῖ γὰρ ἀνέβησαν αἱ φυλαί φυλαὶ κυρίου μαρτύριον τῷ Ισραηλ τοῦ ἐξομολογήσασθαι τῷ ὀνόματι κυρίου

Because their seats have sat in judgment, seats upon the house of David.

Quia illic sederunt sedes in judicio, sedes super domum David.

ὅτι ἐκεῖ ἐκάθισαν θρόνοι εἰς κρίσιν θρόνοι ἐπὶ οἶκον Δαυιδ

Pray ye for the things that are for the peace of Jerusalem: and abundance for them that love thee.

Rogate quæ ad pacem sunt Jerusalem, et abundantia diligentibus te.

ἐρωτήσατε δὴ τὰ εἰς εἰρήνην τὴν Ιερουσαλημ καὶ εὐθηνία τοῖς ἀγαπῶσίν σε

Let peace be in thy strength: and abundance in thy towers.

Fiat pax in virtute tua, et abundantia in turribus tuis.

γενέσθω δὴ εἰρήνη ἐν τῇ δυνάμει σου καὶ εὐθηνία ἐν ταῖς πυργοβάρεσίν σου

For the sake of my brethren, and of my neighbours, I spoke peace of thee.

Propter fratres meos et proximos meos, loquebar pacem de te.

ἕνεκα τῶν ἀδελφῶν μου καὶ τῶν πλησίον μου ἐλάλουν δὴ εἰρήνην περὶ σοῦ

Because of the house of the Lord our God, I have sought good things for thee.

Propter domum Domini Dei nostri, quæsivi bona tibi.

ἕνεκα τοῦ οἴκου κυρίου τοῦ θεοῦ ἡμῶν ἐξεζήτησα ἀγαθά σοι
