2 Chronicles 27

1Joatham was five and twenty years old when he began to reign, and he reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem: the name of his mother was Jerusa the daughter of Sadoc.

2And he did that which was right before the Lord, according to all that Ozias his father had done, only that he entered not into the temple of the Lord, and the people still transgressed.

3He built the high gate of the house of the Lord, and on the wall of Ophel he built much.

4Moreover he built cities in the mountains of Juda, and castles and towers in the forests.

5He fought against the king of the children of Ammon, and overcame them, and the children of Ammon gave him at that time a hundred talents of silver, and ten thousand measures of wheat, and as many measures of barley: so much did the children of Ammon give him in the second and third year.

6And Joatham was strengthened, because he had his way directed before the Lord his God.

7Now the rest of the acts of Joatham, and all his wars, and his works, are written in the book of the kings of Israel and Juda.

8He was five and twenty years old when he began to reign, and he reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem.

9And Joatham slept with his fathers, and they buried him in the city of David: and Achaz his son reigned in his stead.

1Viginti quinque annorum erat Joatham cum regnare cœpisset, et sedecim annis regnavit in Jerusalem : nomen matris ejus Jerusa filia Sadoc.

2Fecitque quod rectum erat coram Domino, juxta omnia quæ fecerat Ozias pater suus, excepto quod non est ingressus templum Domini : et adhuc populus delinquebat.

3Ipse ædificavit portam domus Domini excelsam, et in muro Ophel multa construxit.

4Urbes quoque ædificavit in montibus Juda, et in saltibus castella et turres.

5Ipse pugnavit contra regem filiorum Ammon, et vicit eos, dederuntque ei filii Ammon in tempore illo centum talenta argenti, et decem millia coros tritici, ac totidem coros hordei : hæc ei præbuerunt filii Ammon in anno secundo et tertio.

6Corroboratusque est Joatham, eo quod direxisset vias suas coram Domino Deo suo.

7Reliqua autem sermonum Joatham, et omnes pugnæ ejus et opera, scripta sunt in libro regum Israël et Juda.

8Viginti quinque annorum erat cum regnare cœpisset, et sedecim annis regnavit in Jerusalem.

9Dormivitque Joatham cum patribus suis, et sepelierunt eum in civitate David : et regnavit Achaz filius ejus pro eo.

1υἱὸς εἴκοσι πέντε ἐτῶν Ιωαθαμ ἐν τῷ βασιλεῦσαι αὐτὸν καὶ δέκα ἓξ ἔτη ἐβασίλευσεν ἐν Ιερουσαλημ καὶ ὄνομα τῆς μητρὸς αὐτοῦ Ιερουσα θυγάτηρ Σαδωκ

2καὶ ἐποίησεν τὸ εὐθὲς ἐνώπιον κυρίου κατὰ πάντα ὅσα ἐποίησεν Οζιας ὁ πατὴρ αὐτοῦ ἀλλ' οὐκ εἰσῆλθεν εἰς τὸν ναὸν κυρίου καὶ ἔτι ὁ λαὸς κατεφθείρετο

3αὐτὸς ᾠκοδόμησεν τὴν πύλην οἴκου κυρίου τὴν ὑψηλὴν καὶ ἐν τείχει τοῦ Οφλα ᾠκοδόμησεν πολλά

4καὶ πόλεις ᾠκοδόμησεν ἐν ὄρει Ιουδα καὶ ἐν τοῖς δρυμοῖς καὶ οἰκήσεις καὶ πύργους

5αὐτὸς ἐμαχέσατο πρὸς βασιλέα υἱῶν Αμμων καὶ κατίσχυσεν ἐπ' αὐτόν καὶ ἐδίδουν αὐτῷ οἱ υἱοὶ Αμμων κατ' ἐνιαυτὸν ἑκατὸν τάλαντα ἀργυρίου καὶ δέκα χιλιάδας κόρων πυροῦ καὶ κριθῶν δέκα χιλιάδας ταῦτα ἔφερεν αὐτῷ βασιλεὺς Αμμων κατ' ἐνιαυτὸν ἐν τῷ πρώτῳ ἔτει καὶ τῷ δευτέρῳ καὶ τῷ τρίτῳ

6καὶ κατίσχυσεν Ιωαθαμ ὅτι ἡτοίμασεν τὰς ὁδοὺς αὐτοῦ ἔναντι κυρίου θεοῦ αὐτοῦ

7καὶ οἱ λοιποὶ λόγοι Ιωαθαμ καὶ ὁ πόλεμος καὶ αἱ πράξεις αὐτοῦ ἰδοὺ γεγραμμένοι ἐπὶ βιβλίῳ βασιλέων Ιουδα καὶ Ισραηλ

9καὶ ἐκοιμήθη Ιωαθαμ μετὰ τῶν πατέρων αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐτάφη ἐν πόλει Δαυιδ καὶ ἐβασίλευσεν Αχαζ υἱὸς αὐτοῦ ἀντ' αὐτοῦ
